A Dust Collector pulls airborne dust out of the working area and holds it in filter media, returning clean air to the shop. In a coating unit that means powder overspray; in a fabrication shop it also means grinding dust, welding fume and shot blasting media.
We build cartridge type collectors with reverse pulse jet cleaning, where compressed air pulses knock the dust cake off the cartridges automatically at set intervals, and bag type collectors where the dust load is heavy and coarse. Either way, the filter area is calculated from the airflow and the dust loading, because an undersized collector clogs and its suction falls away within weeks.
Supplied with blower, ducting, hopper and controls, and installed with the extraction hoods positioned where the dust actually is – which is a site decision, not a drawing office one.
